Rogers City Welcomes Forgotten Eagles, Veterans Motorcycle Ride Across Michigan

A group took a special motorcycle ride Thursday to show their support for local veterans.

The Forgotten Eagles took their annual ride around Michigan Thursday.

They made a stop in Rogers City at their veteran’s memorial to present a wreath for soldiers who are missing in action or prisoners of war.

They’ve been doing the ride for 11 years.

Local veteran groups donate what they can to the Forgotten Eagles.

This year half the money raised will go to the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund and the other half to the Brave Hearts Estate in Pellston.

The community support means everything.

"The people that show up to be a part of the ceremony, it makes you think that everyone cares," Forgotten Eagles state vice president Jim Johnston said. "They’re reaching out to help our vets."

The Forgotten Eagles will continue their RAM ride Friday with stops in Gaylord, Grayling, Mio, West Branch and Houghton Lake.
