Tuesday Governor Snyder listened in on one Antrim county community’s discussion on their economic barriers.
The village of Central Lake is one of the 10 communities state-wide chosen for the state’s Department of Talent and Economic Development’s pilot project Rising Tide.
Schools, farms, local businesses and village officials come together monthly to analyze obstacles that limit their economic development and explore solutions.
Governor Snyder says for him to hear those challenges first hand was worth the drive.
“It’s important to meet the people to listen to them directly not just through the people on our team and I got a lot of feedback today that’s pretty constructive.”
Village officials say they’re grateful the governor stopped by and took notes and hope this won’t be the last time.
