MTM On The Road: 2016 Traverse City Film Festival
Bust out the popcorn, northern Michigan! It’s that time of year we remember the magic of Just Great Movies. The Traverse City Film Festival has returned to over a dozen venues throughout the Cherry Capital, bringing films and filmmakers from all over the world. The non-profit organization was founded in 2005 by a team of film fanatics, directors and Traverse City natives lead by the movie man himself, Michael Moore. As always, the movie lineup is as eclectic as the film goers themselves, but this year you may notice an honorable mission. In an industry with less than 2% female filmmakers, this year’s Official Selection (US) for fiction and documentary are all directed or co-directed by women. From the free films in The Open Space to the downtown parties with filmmakers, this six day event has it all. Join us live on Michigan This Morning as we preview the movie magic ahead.
