Crews Battle Fire At Grand Traverse Pallet
Part of Grand Traverse Pallet was destroyed after a fire tore through the south end of the building.
Several departments responded, and put out the fire just after 12 p.m. Tuesday.
Crews are continuing to put out hot spots.
Grand Traverse Pallet is near Ellsworth, and stores wooden pallets.
About 25 people work for Grand Traverse Pallet, and nine employees were inside when the fire started.
A worker in a debarker trunk saw smoke in part of the building and called for help.
Workers pulled the firewall down between the north end of the building, which saved part of the business, but the south end was destroyed.
Grand Traverse Pallet says they are still open for business and will be fulfilling orders Wednesday.
No one was hurt in the fire.
We have a crew heading to the scene of the fire and will have the latest throughout the day on air and online.
