The Kalkaska community is coming together to get a new baseball field.
The old field was built in the 1960’s and doesn’t meet current field standards.
The batter’s box directly faces the sun and causes problems for players.
The new field costs $175,000, and all the money is being raised by donations.
“Our dugouts are very old and tiny. We’ll have a PA system, we’ll have a better just everything for playing baseball,” said Jack Tanner, who’s helping lead fundraising efforts.
They still need to raise $80,000.
