TRAVERSE CITY – The Traverse City Beach Bums avoided a Frontier League series sweep, topping the Gateway Grizzlies 4-3 Thursday night.
After taking a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, the Beach Bums gave up three runs, allowing the Grizzlies to tie the game. However, in the bottom of the ninth, Traverse City’s Elijah Trial hit a walk-off home run, to lift Traverse City over Gateway.
On Friday, July 22, the Beach Bums begin their road series at the River City Rascals.
