Former Sault Ste. Marie City Commissioner Sentenced To Prison for Sex Crimes

A former city commissioner in the Upper Peninsula is headed to prison for sex crimes.

A jury found former Sault Ste. Marie city commissioner, Jeffrey Stefanski guilty in May of sexual conduct involving a 17-year-old.

Stefanski was sentenced to at least 11 years in prison.

He was arrested in 2014, accused of having child pornography.

Stefanski’s first trial in January ended in a hung jury.
