Chippewa County Prison Inmates On Lockdown After Two Separate Fights

An Upper Peninsula prison has the inmates on lockdown after what officials believe were gang related fights.

Two separate fights broke out around 2:30 at the Kinross Correctional Facility in Chippewa County.

They sent two inmates to be checked out.

About an hour later they found another prisoner with a non-life threatening stab wound.

A Kinross sergeant was also hurt while responding, but not at the hands of an inmate.

Nearly 20 prisoners have been moved to different facilities.
