President Obama Leaving Behind More Troops In Afghanistan Than Planned
President Barack Obama announced he will leave behind more troops in Afghanistan than planned.
He made the announcement from the White House Wednesday morning.
He originally planned to drop troop levels down to 5,500 by the end of the year, but will now be leaving 8,400 U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
Obama says Afghan security forces are not as strong as they need to be and that the security situation remains precarious.
