Howard City Man Dies After Homemade Cannon Explosion In Newaygo County

State police say a man died after a homemade cannon exploded in Newaygo County.

EMS was first called to a home in Croton Township Sunday night for a man possibly in cardiac arrest.

Throughout the investigation, troopers found out Anthony Herman, from Howard City, had been shooting a homemade cannon.

They say the cannon exploded and a piece of metal may have hit him in the chest.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
