Manistee Fire Department Offers Free CPR Training
Some local first responders teaching a life saving skill today.
The Manistee Fire Department offered free CPR training on Sunday for anyone who wanted to learn.
They held the training at their fire station in Manistee.
They say the use of CPR or a defibrillator can increase a victim’s chance of survival in certain emergency situations.
The fire department wants to make sure as many people as possible know how to give CPR and use a defibrillator.
They say just a few minutes spent learning with them could one day help someone else save a life.
James Henderson, firefighter and paramedic, said the reason they started the program was because they realized the value of citizens helping on the scene before Emergency Medical Services arrive.
Anyone interested in learning CPR can contact their local fire department or EMS service.
