Supreme Court To Hear Appeal Over Service Dog At School

The Supreme Court will hear an appeal from a Michigan girl with cerebral palsy who can’t bring her service dog to school.

Ehlena Fry has a goldendoodle, named Wonder, who helps her open doors and retrieve items.

The Napoleon School District, near Jackson, initially refused to allow the dog to come to class, then put restrictions on the animal.

The girl ended up transferring to another school.

The case was dismissed and the appeals court upheld the decision last year.

The Supreme Court will consider whether Ehlena’s family can sue the district for disability violations.
