Lansing Lugnuts Hold off Great Lakes Loons

MIDLAND – The Lansing Lugnuts won for the fifth time in six games with a 4-1 victory over the Great Lakes Loons at Dow Diamond Tuesday in Midwest League action.

Leading 1-0 through three innings, Lansing’s Connor Panas delivered a two-run home run to right field, scoring Max Pentecost.

The Loons (32-44) cut the deficit to two in the bottom of the eighth on Noah Perio’s two-out single to left field that score Logan Landon.

Ryan Borucki (5-3) recorded the win, pitching seven innings of shutout ball, allowing four hits while striking out six in the process.  

Isaac Anderson (5-4) was saddled with the loss, allowing three earned runs on three hits while striking out nine over six innings of work.

The two teams are back in action again Wednesday.

First pitch from Dow Diamond is set for 7:05 p.m.
