Power Restored to More Than 1,000 People in Manistee County
More than 1,000 people were in the dark in Manistee County Wednesday morning.
The Consumers Energy power outage affected more than 1,300 people in the city of Manistee, Wellston and Harrietta Wednesday.
Crews were able to restore power to everyone by 1:30 Wednesday afternoon.
We have learned a squirrel somehow managed to get into some of the equipment at this substation.
When that happened it caused some of the fuses to blow, cutting power to 1,300 customers in Manistee County.
People who were home at the time say the noise was scary.
Coming up tonight on 9&10 News, were talking to West Shore Medical Center.
They’re also impacted by this outage and have had to adjust to keep patients safe.
