Flint To Get Water From Lake Huron Once Water Crisis Is Resolved

A big announcement linked to Flint’s water crisis.

Once the lead contamination issue is solved, the city will start getting its water from Lake Huron.

As soon as it’s ready, Flint will pipe water from the Karegnondi Water Authority.

Governor Rick Snyder stood alongside Mayor Karen Weaver Tuesday, saying the state wants to help with the costs of the three mile pipeline it would need.

Flint’s supply was switched from Detroit water to the Flint River in 2014.

The water was not properly treated, resulting in corrosion of lead pipes and contaminated water.
