Group Trying To Legalize Marijuana Files Lawsuit in Michigan Court of Claims
A group trying to legalize marijuana filed a lawsuit in the Michigan Court of Claims after being told they didn’t have enough votes ahead of the statewide November vote.
An elections board says the group called "MI Legalize" did not collect enough valid voter signatures to participate in the fall vote.
Some of the group’s lawyers say Michigan state laws and policies are too inconsistent with the Michigan constitution.
The secretary of state says they haven’t seen a lawsuit yet.
