Former Detroit School Principal Pleads Guilty in Bribery Case

Another former Detroit Public Schools principal has pleaded guilty to bribery for her role in a kickback scheme.

Willye Pearsall was in court Tuesday.

She’s accused of taking $50,000 in kickbacks from Norman Shy and his Allstate Sales.

Along with 12 other principals, a district administrator and Shy, many have already pleaded guilty.

Investigators say fake invoices were submitted by school employees for chairs, paper and other supplies, some of which were never delivered.

Shy paid nearly $900,000 in kickbacks and Allstate Sales got about $2.7 million from the district.

Pearsall faces up to 37 months in prison.

She is scheduled to be sentenced in September.
