Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital Will Expand Outpatient Care
Behavioral health will remain a priority for a local hospital, but they will change from inpatient care to outpatient services.
The Hadley Center for Behavioral Health will close at the end of the month but Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital will expand outpatient care.
Current patients will continue to receive treatment from two psychiatrists at the hospital’s professional office building.
The chief nursing officer says patients with acute mental health disorders can best be served by a specialized facility and the change will allow more people to get the help they need.
“We’re very excited to say that they’re going to maintain in an outpatient practice. And we’ll be doing that now full time, so we’re hopeful that this actually opens up more access in the community for behavioral health needs,” says Chief Nursing Officer and site leader, Helen Johnson
Although the hospital is undergoing a major change, all staff members were offered alternate positions, and no one will be laid off.
