In continuing coverage of the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton decided to take the holiday weekend off.
But that didn’t stop the other presidential candidates from trying to gain votes ahead of upcoming states primaries.
Both Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders campaigned over the weekend.
Presumptive GOP nominee Trump focused his efforts on the military and veterans as he spoke in Washington D.C.
And democratic candidate Bernie Sanders held events in California, speaking on a proposed debate with Trump.
But Trump says he no longer wants to go head-to head with the Vermont Senator.
Now, Sanders says he will turn his efforts directly to California’s June 7th primary as he tries to catch up to Hillary Clinton’s significant lead in the delegate count.
