U.S. Freighter Roger Blough Runs Aground In Lake Superior

On Friday an 833 foot long vessel the Roger Blough, ran aground near Gros Cap Reef in Whitefish Bay.

The U.S. Coast Guard says all crew members are safe and no fuel leaked into Lake Superior.

The ship did see some flooding but is now under control.

Plans to safely remove the freighter from the reef are underway.

The U.S. Coast Guard continues to monitor the damage.

And they’re still investigating what happened.
