Peace Corps to Launch Programs in Vietnam

Secretary of the State John Kerry signed an agreement that establishes the first ever Peace Corps program in Vietnam.

Kerry and his Vietnamese counterpart presided over the signing Tuesday.

The agreement includes the Peace Corps offering English-language training programs in the country’s two largest cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Kerry says the program will be the next step toward a better relationship.

The program will bring about 20 Peace Corps volunteers to Vietnam starting next year and is expected to expand and grow to more cities.

This comes after President Obama’s historic three-day visit to Vietnam.
