Off-Duty Deputy Saves Ludington Man After Motorcycle Accident

An off-duty sheriff’s deputy may have saved a man’s life after he crashed his motorcycle.

Deputies say just after five p.m. Sunday, Dennis Grant of Ludington lost control of his motorcycle on a curve on Walhalla Road.

He and his wife were both thrown from the motorcycle.

An off-duty Kent County deputy found them and performed CPR on Grant, restoring his heartbeat.

Grant was then airlifted to Grand Rapids for treatment.

His wife received minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
