What’s Happening in Northern Michigan: Short’s Brewing Co. Anniversary, Art Walk, Mother’s Day

In just a few days, we already wrap up the month of April, ushering in a new month of plenty of activity.

Courtney Sheffer from the is back with a look at What’s Happening in Northern Michigan.

is about to turn 12, and will be celebrating their anniversary this Saturday, April 30.

They’ll be transforming the streets of Bellaire into a whole block of fun with Short’s brews, Starcut Ciders, live music, scrumptious local foods and thousands of fellow Short’s fans.

In addition to the pub being open, there will be outdoor beverage stations and local food trucks.

Short’s will be giving back to the community as well, with 50 percent of the profits going back to the Village of Bellaire to help with improvements and beautification.

Art will be adorning the walls of downtown Traverse City during the upcoming on Friday, May 6 from 5pm until 9pm!

The event will be promoting the local arts community, and you’re invited to visit and enjoy art, wine, food and music.

Experience art ranging from sculpture and oil paintings, to glass and watercolor, all while shopping at your favorite local shops!

Walking maps for the Art Walk will be available at each participating gallery, as well as at the downtown Traverse City office.
