Northern Michigan Man Banned From Traverse Area District Library After Trespassing

A man is now banned from a Northern Michigan library after trespassing.

Police went to the Traverse Area District Library early Sunday morning after an alarm was triggered.

Police say the man, who was leaving the library when they showed up had triggered a motion-sensor alarm in the computer room.

Nothing was missing and there wasn’t any damage.

Police believe the man was sleeping there.

“We did locate an individual who was coming out of the library and upon making contact with him as well as a responsible person for the library it was determined that the subject didn’t have any real ill intent.” Says Kevin Gay of the Traverse City Police Department.

The man was issued a trespassing warning and banned from the library for the next six months.
