A middle school track team came up with a creative way to train, bond, and raise money.
The Chip Hills Middle School Girl’s Track Team spent an hour of its practice time pushing a car around the track.
The Remus team did this to raise money for the track program while getting in a workout at the same time.
Their goal was to push the car 8 miles and raise over 2 thousand dollars for their team.
They came up just shy of the goal completing more than 6 miles in the hour they had.
But for the team, it was still a great way to spend a beautiful spring day.
"I just want to do my best and try my hardest for my team so we can get our goal and raise as much money for the team as we can," said Jenna Birch.
"We’re just trying to make our muscles in our legs stronger for when we actually go to meets," said Harmony Ramsey.
Even though the team didn’t meet their distance goal, their coach says she is confident they met their financial goal.
