Kentwood Officer On Leave Following Deadly Kent County Shooting

A west Michigan officer is on leave following a deadly shooting in Kent County.

Police say Lamont Gulley was threatening officers with a knife on Friday night in Kentwood when he was shot.

Gulley died at the hospital.

Officers say Gulley had earlier attacked Casey Kempker, who also died.

A 7-year-old boy was found unhurt in the apartment.

The officer who shot Gulley is on leave until the investigation is complete.
