Leftover Ebola Funding to Go Toward Fighting Zika Virus

Congressional officials say the money left over from the efforts to stop Ebola will now be used to fight the threat of the Zika virus.

The Centers for Disease Control will get around $600 million to use toward developing vaccines, treating the infected, and getting rid of the mosquitoes that spread Zika.

Researchers are concerned that Zika is especially dangerous for pregnant women because the virus is thought to cause certain birth defects.
