Mackinaw Raptor Fest

Get up close and personal to live hawks and owls at the Mackinaw Raptor Fest, taking place at Camp Daggett on Walloon Lake near Petoskey on Saturday, April 2nd.

This is a free, family-friendly event open to the public.

Robotics Tournament

Starting Friday, April 1st at 10:30 a.m., 41 teams from across Michigan will compete the first Robotics District Tournament, hosted by Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie.

The tournament will run through Saturday, April 2nd.

RV Show

On Friday, April 1st through Sunday, April 3rd, the Grand Traverse County Civic Center in Traverse City will be holding the 24th Annual Northwest Michigan Camper & RV Show.

The show will include a display of over 10 brands and 35 units of folding campers, travel trailers and 5th wheel travel trailers, as well as one Class C motorhome.

Schuss Mountain Snow Challenge

Beginning Saturday, April 2nd through Sunday, April 3rd, Shanty Creek Resorts in Mancelona will be holding the Schuss Mountain Snow Challenge.

The ski slopes will be turned into side-by-side uphill truck racing, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Michigan Disabled American Veterans.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children, seniors, veterans and military.

Suicide Awareness Walk

Lake Superior State University’s Rho Chi Omega sorority is holding a campus suicide awareness walk on April 2nd.

Check-in registration begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Arts Center Lobby, and the walk begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Arts Center.

The walk is under the auspices of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

The Rock Youth Center Self-Defense Seminar

The Zonta Club of Traverse City is sponsoring a free self-defense class for women between 16-years-old and college age.

Black-belt instructors from Covenant Defense at The Rock Youth Center in Kingsley will conduct the seminar on April 2nd from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The event is first come, first serve for those who reserve a spot by calling 231-263-7000.
