Friday is the day to get a new license for this year’s fishing season.
People who are 17 years and older will need a new license to fish.
They cost $26 for the whole year and $11 for people 65 years or older.
Local shops say they’re already getting busy with people coming in for a new license.
The lakes are still a little too cold, but fishermen are ready to get back out.
"We’re getting ready. We got our spawn coming in tomorrow and our crawlers and our worms and people have been asking," Harbor General Store assistant manager William Quaglia said. "They’ve been wanting."
A new yearly fishing license will be good until the end of March 2017.
