Some organizations in Northern Michigan are competing to see who can raise the most money for a special cause.
It has a unique title "Moosejaw X Patagonia Charity Thing."
The two companies hand pick organizations focused on water issues on the Great Lakes.
The team that raises the most during the challenge wins a $2,500 donation for their charity.
The Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay is one competitor.
“The whole thing is to raise water awareness which is fantastic so we’re lucky to be a part of that but then with this group of folks, to be able to raise awareness about who we are and what we do and reach folks that we might not normally reach, it’s a good opportunity for us to get our name out there and talk to people about the importance of clean water in grand traverse bay.” Says Executive Director, Christine Crissman.
And it’s a win-win, organizations that don’t win any prizes still get to keep the money they raised.
