Cadillac St. Baldrick’s Event Fights Childhood Cancer

A Saint Baldrick’s event in Cadillac today will help fight childhood cancer.

Abbie’s First Cut Barber Shop is usually closed on Mondays, but today they’re open and 100 percent of proceeds are going to St. Baldrick’s.

For four hours this afternoon people could get a shave, trim or even chop off more than 10 inches of hair and make a donation to the foundation.

One of their young customers, William, and his mom asked the salon to do the event to help his friend with cancer.

"It’s really the kids are understanding what happens when they go through cancer and what they can to do help their friends and families and so were here to support them," says stylist Christine Jenkins.

Plans are already in the works for another event next year, with all of the salons and barber shops in Cadillac planning to take part.
