This week in Grant Me Hope we introduce you to Lakenyei.
She’s an energetic teenager who is hoping today will be the day someone welcomes her into their family through adoption.
Lakenyei is 16 years old and is in the 10th grade.
She is interested in basketball, cheerleading, track and soccer.
Lakenyei likes to draw, read, write and do puzzles.
“I want a family who loves me for who I am, and doesn’t treat me any differently from any of your other kids,” says Lakenyei.
She is considering joining the Marines and says she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.
“I’d really like you to know that I’m not a bad kid. I just want to be loved, because I have not experienced it.”
Grant Me Hope is a collaboration between WWTV, Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange, Teddy’s Transport and the business community — all working together to find foster children a forever home.
