Detroit Pistons Owner Will Match Flint Telethon Donations

The owner of the Detroit Pistons says he will match all donations brought in during an upcoming telethon.

9&10 News, along with other TV stations throughout the state are working together to help families impacted by the Flint water crisis.

A Detroit station will host the telethon, and it will air locally on 9&10 and Fox 32 on Tuesday, March 15 throughout the day.

Tom Gores says he will match all donations up to one-million dollars.

The Flint native has already donated millions of dollars to help the people of Flint.

He has also founded the Flint Now Foundation in response to the city’s lead tainted water.

This all started in April 2014 when the city’s water source was temporarily switched to cut costs.

That’s when lead leached into the city’s water supply.

The Flint Water Crisis: 4 Our Families telethon will benefit the Community Foundation of Greater Flint and its Flint Child Health Development Fund.

You will be able to donate over the phone and online.
