Upcoming Telethon Organized to Help Flint Residents Impacted By Water Crisis

Northern Michigan’s News Leader is proud to take part in a fundraiser to help people in Flint dealing with the ongoing water crisis.

A telethon hosted by a Detroit station will air locally on 9&10 News and Fox 32 on Tuesday, March 15th throughout the day.

The crisis began in April 2014 when the city changed its water source to cut costs.

That’s when lead became a problem and it can cause irreversible developmental delays and learning disabilities.

Flint Water Crisis: 4 Our Families telethon will benefit the Community Foundation of Greater Flint and its Flint Child Health Development fund.

We will be sharing stories of those impacted by the lead-tainted water.

You will be able to donate over the phone and through a link posted on our website.
