Michigan Agencies Recommend Stopping Fish Farming In Great Lakes

Great Lakes fish farming businesses are in hot water. State agencies are recommending the practice be stopped.

It all stems from a report by the Department of Natural Resources.

It says fish farming is bad for the environment, as well as tourism.

Native tribes with fishing management rights in the Great Lakes and people who live here have objected to fish farming.

The state has received two proposals for more aquaculture, but no formal applications have been submitted.
