Changes Planned For Wexford County Railroad Crossing To Improve Safety

Changes are coming to try to improve the safety of a Wexford County railroad crossing.

The mayor of Manton says they will install barriers and flashing lights at the railroad crossing at East 14 Road, just west of Business 131.

Last year, Kathryn Paddock died when her car was hit at the crossing.

It’s the same place her brother-in-law died more than 20 years ago.

Manton’s mayor says state legislators first came to her about making changes at the crossing.

Those who live near the crossing say it’s dangerous and trees block drivers in the area.

There is no date set for the barriers to be installed.
