Mecosta County Man Arrested for Assaulting Roommate

Deputies in Mecosta County arrested a man they say got violent with a hammer.

Just after four Monday morning, deputies responded to a call about shots fired at a home in Green Township.

They say two roommates got into an argument, and one locked himself in his bedroom.

Then they say the other man used a hammer to try to smash his way through the door, nearly hitting the man’s head on the other side.

The man inside the room fired a warning shot with a gun.

Deputies arrested the man with the hammer for aggravated assault.
