Feedback at 5:00: Registering To Vote

Tomorrow at this time, Northern Michigan polling places will be busy as voters cast their ballots for the presidential primary.

In Michigan, voters have to register ahead of time in order to vote.

Some states are adopting an idea that it’s the government’s responsibility to register voters, not their own.

Oregon is the first state to put it in place.

Automatic registration bills have been introduced in many states, including our own.

Registration would become automatic when a resident receives a driver’s license or a Michigan state identification card as long as they meet the usual qualifications to vote.

Are you in favor of automatic registration?

Why or why not?
