North Central Michigan College Brings In Lecturer on Active Shooting Scenarios
A North Carolina expert came to Northern Michigan to teach locals about how to handle active shooter situations.
Dr. Mike Clumpner offered two different lectures about active shooter situations at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey.
Dr. Clumpner spoke to over 120 police, EMS and school officials this morning for several hours on how to stay safe and be prepared for anything.
With incidents like what happened in Kalamazoo, the information is more relevant now than ever.
"It’s scary that we use that to mark an event, but that’s the reality of the world we live in today," North Central Michigan College communications department member Shawn Bauman said.
Dr. Clumpner’s lecture tonight is focusing on the issues of active shootings in school, at churches and in the community.
