Wrong-Way Crash on US-131 in Mecosta County Sends Two to Hospital

Deputies in Mecosta County believe drugs and alcohol played a role in a wrong-way crash.

Deputies say around 7:30 Tuesday night, a vehicle was driving north in the southbound lane of US-131 in Mecosta County when it crashed into a semi-truck near Stanwood.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The semi-truck driver was not hurt.

The crash closed down the highway for several hours, but as of Wednesday morning it’s back open.
