Judge Rules FBI Cannot Force Apple to Unlock Suspect iPhone

Good news for Apple in their fight against a federal order.

A New York judge says the United States Justice Department cannot force Apple to provide the FBI access to locked iPhone data in a Brooklyn drug ruling Monday.

That ruling comes after a California judge’s order aimed to force Apple to create software to help the FBI unlock the iPhone that belonged to Syed Farook.

Farook is one of the shooters that killed 14 people in San Bernardino, California last year.

Apple is fighting the order, saying it could compromise the privacy of all iPhone users.
