Two downstate men are facing charges after deputies say they bought thousands of cigarettes with stolen debit cards.

Mason County sheriff’s deputies first got a call in December.

Two men bought lots and lots of cartons of cigarette cartons from an E-Z Mart on US 10 near Ludington.

Deputies found and stopped their car, arresting them for marijuana charges.

Inside the car, they found about 27,000 cigarettes and several debit cards.

Both men are now awaiting arraignment for tobacco products tax act violations, identity theft and five counts of stealing cards.
