Norovirus Confirmed On University of Michigan Campus

The Norovirus has been confirmed as the illness that left more than 100 University of Michigan students sick.

The confirmation was made by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

It is still unclear where the illness started.

Norovirus is a highly contagious gastrointestinal illness that can cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and fever.

Officials are asking students and staff to thoroughly wash their hands to avoid getting sick.

Students have also been advised to not share any drinks, avoid any people showing symptoms and to disinfect surfaces.
