Maryland Court Delays Freddie Gray Trial

The trial involving five Baltimore police officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray is delayed.

That’s because Maryland’s highest court will hear appeal cases for the officers next month.

The Maryland Court of Appeals will decide whether a sixth officer charged in the case, William Porter, should be forced to testify against the others.

Porter went to trial last year but his case ended in a mistrial.

Freddie Gray died last April, just days after suffering a spinal injury that happened during a ride inside a police van.
