Ludington Goodwill Employees Discover Inactive Grenade In Donation Box

Ludington Goodwill employees dealt with a scary situation Sunday when they discovered a grenade at the bottom of a box of donated coats.

Employees called Michigan State Police after discovering the grenade Sunday afternoon.

The MSP bomb squad responded and determined that the grenade was not active and didn’t have the proper parts to detonate.

Troopers believe the person who donated the items did not know the grenade was at the bottom of the box and donated it accidentally.

The MSP Hart Post says it’s protocol to dispatch the bomb squad in any situation involving possible explosives.

They’re reminding people to double check items that are being donated in order to prevent something like this from happening.
