Former Grand Valley State University Employee Pleads Guilty to Embezzlement

An employee of a west Michigan university has pleaded guilty to stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the school.

Lynnea MacGeorge pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement by an agent or trustee of $20,000 or more after stealing more than $76,000 from Grand Valley State University.

GVSU says MacGeorge resigned from the Athletic and Recreation Facilities Management office in Allendale in June after stealing the money between 2012 and 2015.

MacGeorge faces up to ten years in prison.

She will be sentenced next month.
