An Antrim County sheriff’s deputy lifted a palm print from a bedroom window linking it to Tracy McDonald.
McDonald was in federal prison in Ohio for failing to register as a sex offender.
As he was being released last month, officials held him so he could be transferred to Antrim County.
McDonald is now charged with home invasion and larceny in a building.
