Four Injured In Shooting Near Muskegon Heights High School

Four people were injured in a shooting at Muskegon Heights High School after a basketball game.

The shooting happened around 9:30 Tuesday night.

Police say officers were stationed in the parking lot of the high school ahead of the basketball game after they were warned about the possibility of a dispute.

After the game, officers in the parking lot heard shots fired nearby, then saw the suspect, Clarence McCaleb, run towards the school. Two women and one man were injured.

A deputy caught up with McCaleb before he could enter the school and demanded he drop his weapon.

When McCaleb refused, the deputy shot him.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

The Muskegon County sheriff says the deputy acted within policy and state law.

The shooting is still under investigation.
