The celebration comes from Catholic roots as a “last hurrah” before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday.
Today people all over the world will indulge in sweet treats – like the traditional Polish pastry that’s become synonymous with Fat Tuesday – paczkis!
In fact – the Michigan This Morning On The Road crew is staying busy making paczkis live at Goodale’s Bakery in Grayling this morning!
If a jelly filled, glazed donut isn’t your favorite – there are plenty of other sweets to treat yourself with today.
