A man pleaded guilty to assault with intent to murder.
Samuel Pego lunged at a woman, wrapped both his hands around her neck and squeezed.
It happened at a motel on the Isabella Indian Reservation in August of last year.
Pego said he was going to kill her and she was strangled until she became unconscious.
During the investigation into the assault, he told others and the victim directly that she needed to lie about the attack.
He has yet to be sentenced for the crime.
